Brad Pitt For Chanel: Sneak Preview Of The No.5 Fragrance Campaign!

Brad Pitt For Chanel: The No.5 Fragrance Campaign Is About To Be Revealed!

Forget Audrey Tautou and Nicole Kidman. When Chanel announced their new cover girl boy for the No.5 scent, us Graziettes were delighted at the refreshing - and hunky - choice. Yep, none other than Brad Pitt is fronting the advertising campaign - but can a man be the face of the world’s most famous fragrance? The answer is about to be revealed...

This morning, the Chanel clan sent an email detailing 'a film experience' for the project, which will be unveiled on October 15th. 'For the first time, a man will give his view on the most feminine and legendary of fragrances,' the press release reads. So far, we know Joe Wright shot the Hollywood actor for the commercial, which features Brad speaking to the viewer as if he were speaking to a woman. We're blushing already. But then it's revealed he's actually talking to the perfume bottle. Oh.

WWD have also posted the black and white image above featuring Brad with Joe Wright looking suitably wistful. What a glorious golden mane Bradders has! Although we're still not convinced by that goaty... The image was shot by Sam Taylor Wood Johnson who's also lensing the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M campaign, but we have our bets on Karl Lagerfeld himself taking Brad x Chanel honours.

'To keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view,' President of Chanel Fragrance & Beauty, Andrea d’Avack, tells WWD. 'It is the first time we’ve had a man speaking about a women’s fragrance. We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume. No.5 is our leading fragrance, and we are willing to make the investment to keep it on that level.'

And how much does it cost to bag Brad? According to WWD, industry sources estimated that Chanel spent £4.3 million for his A-listy services and over £6 million on U.S. advertising. Ooh la la! Take a look at the fragrance's marvellous history in the video below and let your Mr Pitt fantasies run free...
