Girls around the world, it’s the news you’ve been dreaming of! The One Direction boys have been cloned, making it possible for them to be sunning it up in LA AND perform on last night’s X Factor, thus doubling your chances at snagging one of the quiffed, baby-faced youths for yourselves.

Sadly, the world is not that lucky (one day girls) and it has actually been revealed that last night, as millions of girls watched the singing talent show believing the five boys were in London, they were in fact thousands of miles away in LA which is where we spotted them shopping in Urban Outfitters.

So just how did the boys pull off this magnificent illusionary feat? Simples, their performance of new single Little Things was filmed earlier in the week on Wednesday 7^th November.

Whilst there was no mention of 1D’s performance actually being live, ITV went to great lengths to give that very impression, with the judges even dressed in the same get-up in the pre-record as on last night’s live show. Scandalous.

Millions of girls will be crushed to find their heartthrobs were nowhere near the X Factor studios last night but were instead in Hollywood and one can only hope that in an effort to make up for this misguided certainty, ITV may contribute to the fund for the research into cloning Harry Styles (we kid. Mostly.)
