We were just watching a new video from Mary Kay and they've highlighted two new looks that are really gorgeous. The first is a "Leading Lady" look which is soft and romantic. Think sparkly skirt and menswear trench. The make-up to complement this look is elegant. They're showing mineral eye colors in truffle and sweet plum (sounds gorgeous) +a sophisticated apricot lip with lots of black mascara. That works for us.

The second look is more dramatic. They've dubbed it Femme Fatale . For example you might wear a leather skirt and a lace top. The make-up to go with this modern glamour look is bold: red lips, dark lashes and natural make-up on the rest of the face to balance it. This is more of an evening look.What the trend boils down to it a return to old time movie star magic – gorgeous feminine clothes and top notch grooming. The look is polished and sexy and sophisticated – such an exciting change from the very casual style of the last several seasons.

We've always said that the right clothing is important to look modern and youthful, but what is even more important is that your make-up and hair are updated and many women forget about this.

We also notice that the women who really stand out over 40 are the ones that pay a lot of attention to grooming so this trend is a step in the right direction. Can't wait to test out these looks!
